Cary Players announces its full 2007-2008 season!
* Twain by the Tracks - September 21-23, 2007
* A Christmas Story - December 7-9 and 14-16, 2007
* Love Bits & Bites-Third Time's a Charm! - February 8-10, 2008
* Don’t Drink the Water - April 25-26 and May 1-3, 2008
The new Cary Players season has been dubbed a Year of Love, Laughs & Literature.
Starting off the year with a production featuring one of America’s literary giants is "Twain by the Tracks" directed by Debra Grannan. It’s a selection of clever Mark Twain one-acts and short stories that will be performed on 2 floors of the Page-Walker Arts & History Center in Cary. Sept 21-23, 2007 Friday & Saturday at 8pm and Sunday at 6pm.
Join the growing Cary tradition and see the 4th annual production of Jean Shepherd’s family classic "A Christmas Story" written by Phillip Grecian. The play brings all the favorite moments from the movie to life and adds some new ones. December 7-9 and 14-16, 2007 at the Old Cary Elementary School in Cary. Directed by Debra Grannan.
What's Valentine's Day without love scenes, love songs, and chocolate? Not much! Returning this February is Cary Players 3rd annual production of ‘Love Bits & Bites - Third Time's a Charm!" directed by Lyman Collins. February 8-10, 2008 at the Page-Walker Arts & History Center in Cary. It’s a sweet treat!
Closing out the season is "Don't Drink the Water" by Woody Allen directed by Matt Schedler. Communists, spies, and New Jersey caterers...just another day at the American embassy! The laughter starts Apr 25-26 and runs through May 1-3, 2008 at the Holly Springs Cultural Center in Holly Springs.
Now in their fifth year, Cary Players produced its first show, the Thornton Wilder classic Our Town, in 2003. Since then over 5,000 audience members have enjoyed thirteen other wonderful shows. This past year the company also began offering writing workshops and basic acting classes with more in preparation for 2008.
Cary Player’s mission is to provide the citizens of Cary and surrounding areas with the opportunity to enhance and showcase their theatrical talents through a variety of activities including but not limited to: theatrical productions, readings of up and coming playwrights, and theatre workshops.
