Calling All Playwrights: Submissions Are Open for the 2025 Cary Playwrights’ Forum!

Submissions are now being accepted for the 2025 Cary One Act Workshop.

What is the Cary One Act Workshop?

The Cary One Act Workshop is a collaboration between Cary Players and the Cary Playwrights’ Forum. The 2025 Workshop is a one-day-only table reading of 3-4 short plays on Sunday, October 12, 2025 (1:00 PM - 4:00 PM), at the Cary Arts Center. After each reading, the participating artists and the audience will provide written feedback for the playwright. The workshop is FREE to attend.

Submissions are due by August 31 and must meet the following criteria:

  • One act play written by North Carolinian playwright(s);

  • Scripts must be written in Standard Play Format;

  • Scripts must be 10-20 pages in length;

  • Playwright(s) should be able to attend the table reading, in-person, on Sunday, October 12, 2025 (1:00 PM - 4:00PM), at the Cary Arts Center.
